To our Dear Patient:
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.
As we move forward with re-opening on June 1 st , you may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment; these changes were made to help protect our patients and employees.
For example, when you arrive at our office:
- We require you to wear a face mask when entering.
- You will be asked some screening questions regarding your health and we will be taking your temperature before being seen.
- We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
Also, with regards to “physical distancing”, you will see a change in the following:
- We will only allow a maximum of 2 people in the reception area at one time. We may ask that any accompanying individuals (family members, care takers, drivers) wait outside or in their vehicle, unless properly cleared to remain in the office/treatment room.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients , which might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. (If you have already had an appointment scheduled before March 18th, your appointment may still remain on the schedule, however we may ask you to shift your appointment time slightly.)
Infection control, as you know, has always been of utmost concern for our profession. But safety, in a time of COVID-19 requires dental offices to go an extra mile in protecting patients and employees. These infection control processes, or “universal precautions”, were instituted so that when you receive care, it ’ s both safe and comfortable. Rest assured that our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and you may see a change when we deliver your care, such as:
- Medical-grade air purifiers in each operatory and reception area
- Use of a personal suctioning system to decrease aerosols particles during your treatment
- Enhanced disinfection and sterilization techniques
- Upgraded personal protective equipment for all employees
